Festival Attendees attempt to set the world record for “Most People Throwing Rubber Chickens at the Same Time”

Spring is in the air and so are the rubber chickens, as participants of the Charles River Watershed Association’s (CRWA) 28th Run of the Charles Canoe and Kayak Race plan to make history by setting the Guinness World Record® for the “Largest Rubber Chicken Toss.”

The record-setting event will take place on Sunday, April 25 at 3:30pm during the Finish Line Festival following this year’s Run of the Charles Canoe and Kayak Race, which is held to benefit the Charles River Watershed Association and its efforts to protect the health, beauty and accessibility of the Charles River.

The Finish Line Festival, where some races begin and all races finish, will host day-long activities for the public at DCR’s Artesani Park on Soldiers’ Field Road in Brighton, MA. Festival admission is free and with a $1 donation to the CRWA, participants will receive an official rubber chicken, courtesy of The Haywire Group, the award-winning toy company behind the Flickin’ Chicken™ game.

About the Charles River Watershed Association (CRWA)
The work of CRWA encompasses all 80 miles of the Charles River, which meanders through 35 eastern Massachusetts towns and cities within the 308 square miles of the Charles River watershed. The nearly 1.5 million citizens who live in the watershed, totaling 23% of the state's population, benefit from a clean and healthy Charles River. CRWA’s successes have led many organizations across the country to emulate its science-based watershed management model. For more information on registration, becoming a volunteer, or any other aspect of the race, please call (508) 698-6810, e-mail rotc@crwa.org or visit www.charlesriver.org.
