Commonwealth Ballet presents A Small Thing, Lost - moments of hope, joy, love and loss captured in dance. The evening of short works entwines musical sources spanning the renaissance to the 21st century, from classical to world music. The performance will include three world premieres.
Artistic Director Chip Morris presents a journey from flirtatious youth to final years featuring the music of contemporary composers David Lang, Eric Whitacre and John Tavener sung live by the award-winning Acton-Boxborough Madrigal Singers.
AdeChike Torbert, So You Think You Can Dance Top 4 finalist, choreographs a contemporary work and former Boston Ballet soloist Denise Pons creates a unique collaboration with original composition and composer accompaniment. The recovered treasure of the classical ballet repertory, La Vivandière Pas de Six, brings a lost work back to the stage. This is a concert to delight the eye and touch the heart.
