Dance Prism presents their new production of the buoyant classical ballet Don Quixote for two performances only, at the Collins Center in Andover on April 28 at 2:30 pm and at the Performing Arts Center in Littleton on May 4, at 7:00 pm.

Now celebrating its 30th season, Dance Prism has performed widely throughout New England since it was founded in 1982 by Scott Ranagan and Mary Demaso.

Dance Prism is a classically focused dance ensemble distinguished both for its treatment of such narrative ballets as The Nutcracker, Coppélia, and Alice in Wonderland, and for its original neoclassical works.

Dance Prism is committed to making the full spectrum of ballet truly accessible and affordable to area communities.

Dance Prism's Massachusetts touring schedule regularly includes appearances in such venues as Worcester's Mechanics Hall, the Collins Center in Andover, and the Jackson Arts Center at Bristol Community College in Fall River.

Additional Performance of Don Quixote Saturday, May 4, 2013 – 7:00 pm Performing Arts Center at Littleton High School, 56 King Street, Littleton, MA 01460

The Ballet: Based on a ballet originally produced in St. Petersburg in 1871, Don Quixote explores the mis-adventures of the legendary Don, his comic servant Sancho Panza, and the spirited pair of young lovers with whom they disrupt the colorful city of Barcelona.

In the ballet, a lively cast of colorful gypsies, toreadors, and Spanish dancers surround Cervantes' idealistic Don, played by dancer and artist David Workman.

The lovers will be danced by Columbia City Ballet soloist Miranda Bailey, who is co-staging the production with Dance Prism's Artistic Director Mary Demaso , and Florida-based John-Michael Takashima, also formerly of Columbia City Ballet.

Matt Tucker will play the toreador Espada, and Michelle Michitson will tease him endlessly in the role of the street dancer Mercedes

After the performance, audience members are invited to a complementary reception where they can meet the dancers.

All performance venues for Don Quixote provide ample free parking and are handicapped accessible.

Audiences of nearly 10,000 people per year see Dance Prism's acclaimed production of The Nutcracker.

Dance Prism is a not for profit organization.

Lecture Demonstrations and Workshops: Dance Prism company members tour New England throughout the year offering Lecture-Demonstrations and Dance-related instructional Workshops to private and public schools, libraries and retirement communities.
