Produced and directed by Eric Cunningham with original choreography by Siobhán Manson, members of Dublin Irish Dance are world Irish dance champions who have performed worldwide with Riverdance, Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance, and Celtic Woman. They are backed by a sensational eight-member traditional Irish band and vocalist.
The music and dance of Stepping Out is presented through a compelling narrative that begins with the pre-Famine of rural Ireland, in kitchens, barns and fields.
As the Great Hunger closes in, the story moves across the ocean to America, where the Irish mingle with immigrants from around the world in New York and Boston.
Some are bound for the Appalachian Mountains where ancient Irish melodies fuse with African rhythms, creating American tap dance and early roots music.
The journey leads to the present and a celebration of the incredible evolution of Irish traditional dance and music while showcasing the pioneers who now define the new standard of traditional Irish music and dance.
