'Salsa by the Sea' w/dance instruction and music provided by DJ Franklin Condori
These free outdoor gatherings in Lynch Park are where participants can learn the basics of salsa or practice their moves.
Each evening starts w/45 min. of instruction by DJ Franklin Condori & participants are encouraged to come on their own or w/a partner.
No experience necessary.
Condori is active in the metro-Boston Latin dance community & has organized/hosted many social dancing events that focus on salsa & bachata.
He is involved in several dance companies & is an instructor at Rumba y Timbal in Cambridge, MA.
Condori started as an avid salsa dancer & then quickly found his true calling behind the turntables as a DJ.
Combining his passion for salsa w/his fascination of the Palladium era & NY Mambo, he brings a sound that promises swing & energy for the dancers.
At the same time, his background as an instructor allows him to provide the basics, for anyone looking to learn some of the foundational moves of salsa dancing.
Katherine Shao is the organizer of the dances: “We had such a great turnout last summer, the weather was gorgeous & Lynch Park stage was the perfect spot to do the salsa instruction.
Everyone who attended commented on what a wonderful setting it was for social dancing, which is everywhere in Latin American countries.
Such a wonderful part of the culture where music & dancing just happens no matter where you are.
Plus w/social dancing, you don’t have to worry about having a partner.
You simply pair up w/a new person for the next song.”
Opportunities to invite friends can be found at Salsa by the Sea event 1 and Salsa by the Sea event 2.
The program is supported in part by the Beverly Cultural Council, a local agency, supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
