1810-1910: A Century of New England Childhood
Family Discovery Gallery at Wenham Museum
March 29 - September 19, 2010

Children pretend to live a different century while playing with period toys, dress in costume, and try out daily 19th-century children’s chores of churning butter, gathering eggs, hauling wood, weaving, fetching water, and other seasonal activities. Parents will learn the effect the Abolitionist Movement, Civil War, and Industrial Revolution had on New England farm children of this era.
