Visitors of all ages will be inspired by the extraordinary characters, puppets, worlds, and stories created from otherwise ordinary materials in this exhibition featuring:

- the mystical hand puppets and magical book illustrations of Ashley Bryan;

- the larger-than-life paper-mache characters of Bread & Puppet Theatre;

- an interactive theatre marionette stage set by painters Donald Saaf & Julia Zanes;

- Jeff Sias's contemporary toy theatre along with miniature paper toy theatres and

- Indian shadow puppets from the Ballard Institute & Museum of Puppetry.

The exhibit includes exciting interactive spaces within the galleries and the New Art Center welcomes all to come be inspired, create, and perform your own work!

The nearest T stop to the New Art Center is Newton Highlands on the Green Line (D/Riverside), then take the #59 North bus on Walnut Street, exit at CVS. Call the MBTA at (617) 722-3200 for schedules and fare information. The NAC is also accessible from the Mass.Pike, Route 128, or the Newtonville stop on the commuter rail (Framingham line.)
