Sewing by both hand and machine was an essential skill encouraged for every young girl growing up in early America. This hands on exhibit features fine original examples of girl's sewing machines, historic sewing books, patterns and examples of young girl's needlework. Young visitors will be able to experiment with fun and safe hand sewing activities.
