Among the works included in this exhibition is Andy Warhol’s Flash—November 22, 1963, a portfolio in the Addison’s collection from which the exhibition borrows its name, that presents a fragmented narrative comprised of disjointed snapshots spanning events from the Kennedy campaign to Lee Harvey Oswald’s arrest.
Other paintings, prints, photographs, sculpture, and video by artists Lutz Bacher, Wayne Gonzales, Marisol, Tina Mion, Edward Paschke, and T.R.
Uthco and Ant Farm, similarly underscore the media’s role in shaping what we see and how we see it while also challenging our own collective memory of this calamitous series of events.
