earth rocks a family festival photoExplore our planet from the inside, out.

Learn how volcanoes and other earth processes help us understand Earth’s structure.

Examine rocks, minerals, fossils and meteorites from the museum’s collections.

Meet Harvard scientists and hear about their research.

Look backing time and peer deep inside the earth with hands-on activities for all ages, like watching volcano demonstrations, examining real fossils up close, and learning about gems and birthstones.

Even bring a mystery rock or mineral form home to be identified!

Talk with collectors from the Boston Mineral Club, meet Harvard paleontologist Anjan Bhullar, see fluorescent minerals from the museum’s collection, and try your hand at building a landscape with an Augmented Reality Sandbox.
