Hear the trains chug along as you learn about early train travel from the 1830’s to today. See stamps, postcards and photographs of early trains, railroad stations, depots and trolley lines on loan from local train collectors and wooden model railroad kits from the 1930’s. Then tour the Train Gallery in the lower level to see 6 more layouts including the Polar Express and Thomas the Train!
Plan to spend at least an hour to visit all of the galleries: East Meets West, an exhibit of traditional and contemporary Eastern inspired clothing, the world-renowned International Doll Collection, the Family Discovery Gallery, a touchable exhibit of reproduction colonial artifacts, a country store, dollhouses, an architect studio and tour the Claflin-Richards House circa 1690, one of the oldest houses on the North Shore with includes three centuries of architecture, furnishings and artifacts that reflect family life in a small New England village.

Driving:
From points south: Take Route 128 north to exit 20-A (Route 1A - Hamilton). Follow Route 1A north for 2.3 miles. The Museum is on the right before the Wenham Town Hall.
From points north: Take Route 95 South to Route 128 North. Then follow the directions as above.
Public Transportation:
B&M Commuter Rail to Hamilton-Wenham; 15-minute scenic walk south from the depot on Route 1A.
