Prized Vintage Posters from the Golden Age of Skiing 1900-1960.
One of the most sought-after collectibles today, ski posters offer a rich history combining travel, sports, and fashion.
Our current show features the finest group we have assembled in 22 years, with thirty-five rare, original vintage posters that tell the fascinating tale of winter sport's transformation from sport to industry.
Jim Lapides graduated with high honors in Art History at Yale University, specializing in Italian Renaissance art.
His passion for posters led him to open International Poster Gallery on Newbury Street in 1994.
A dedicated collector himself, Jim has written extensively on posters and has organized and curated many poster exhibitions both at the Gallery and in New England, including a major retrospective of Soviet posters at the Massachusetts College of Art.
The talk and exhibition are free and open to the public.
