Flying Horse Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit
Introduce children to art in a beautiful outdoor setting! The ninth annual Flying Horse Outdoor Sculpture Exhibit will feature more than 50 works by artists from New England and beyond displayed on the 100-acre campus of Pingree School in South Hamilton on the North Shore. The largest display of outdoor art in the region, Flying Horse includes work in all mediums, including bronze, wood, ceramic, plastic, glass, resin, fiberglass, found materials, and more.
A 12-foot interactive Musical Fence created by the Pickup Music Project (pickupmusicproject.com) invites visitors to make sounds with others. A sea monster, dolphins, a 12-foot-tall dog, and a mother swan with her young are just some of the animal sculptures that are among the many abstract and figurative works.
The exhibit is free and open to the public seven days a week during daylight hours, from September 1 to November 4. Visitors are invited to a reception with the artists on September 16 at 1 p.m. when George Fifield, director of Boston Cyberarts and this year's honorary chair, will speak about the new technology changing the face of art.
