Come play with Etch-a-Sketch, Hot Wheels and Spirograph from the 1960s, or Lionel Trains, Madame Alexander dolls and Radio Flyers introduced earlier in the century. Do you know how Tonka Trucks got their name, where Barbie went to high school, and why teddy bears were created? The stories behind many of this century's most popular toys are as much fun as the toys themselves. Consider the characteristics that raise these toys into icons of play. Will the video games of today be considered the classic toys of tomorrow?
After visiting the exhibit, nominate your current favorite toy for 'classic' status in the National Toy Hall of Fame ®.
