Following their drill, the militia would be joined by their families and celebrate with good food and drink, music and games.
On September 30, 2023, the late 18th century will come alive on the fields by the Wayside Inn.
This annual Colonial Faire and Muster of Fyfe and Drum is hosted by the Sudbury Companies of Militia and Minute and the Sudbury Ancient Fyfe and Drum Companie.
In reenacting the fall muster, in the morning, there will be a demonstration of contra dance and drills by militia.
In the afternoon, the air will be filled with the sounds of fyfe and drum, first in a parade and later performing on the field.
Throughout the day, there will be living history demonstrations of life in colonial New England, children's activities, and vendors selling their wares and refreshment.
Admission is $3 per adult, children get in free.
