In/Outdoor: | Indoor, Outdoor |

Category: | Fairs & Festivals |
Beginning at 11 am and continuing until 5 pm, the Village (located at Salem's Forest River Park) will play host to a crew of authentically equipped New England pirates. Throughout the day the pirates will demonstrate punishments, blacksmithing, pirate cooking, sea tales and sea songs. Of special interest for children with a misplaced desire to join a pirate crew will be a guarded treasure house where junior crew-members may be recruited.
As a special feature of the event two original publications will be available to visitors: a full-color poster of Captain 'Black Sam' Bellamy, notorious New England pirate; a reproduction of an original testimony of pirate John Browne, hanged in Boston in 1723, warning all young people to avoid the life of sin that leads to piracy.
