Join the Peabody Essex Museum on Saturday, January 9th as we celebrate the Japanese New Year and usher in the year of the Tiger. Enjoy rousing taiko drumming performances by Odaiko New England, Japanese lion dances by Stephen Long and demonstrations by master calligrapher Michiko Imai.

Try your hand at Japanese art and music through drumming and calligraphy workshops, create daruma dolls and woodblock print nengajo cards, play traditional Japanese games, and enjoy kamishibai storytelling with Midori Oka.
