DeCordova Sculpture Park and Museum is pleased to announce its first annual Family SculptureFest to take place on Sunday, September 19, 2010. This fun day of campus--wide activities will include looking, creating, and exploring art inside and outside the museum. Join us for a variety of events to engage and entertain the whole family!

Activity Highlights
Art-making; Family activities; Food; Musical performances; Scavenger hunt; and Tours of the new fall exhibitions

- Join professional sand sculptor Greg Grady in making your own sculptures
- Conduct interviews with WBUR's arts and culture reporter Andrea Shea
- Make your own mini sculptures inspired by artwork in the Park
- Interact with Park artists
- Enjoy live musical and dance performances and puppet shows
- Collaborate with other visitors to create a community mural
- Shop the juried art sale, featuring work from 42 New England-based artists
- Tour the Park, Museum, and exhibitions

Art in the Park will no longer take place this spring due to the addition of this new annual event to DeCordova's calendar. The new event focuses on family experiences, community outreach, and celebrating the many ways people of all ages can experience art at DeCordova.

This event better aligns with the mission of the Park and Museum as it builds its efforts to reach out to the community and make contemporary art accessible to all ages.
