Children from throughout the city are invited to enjoy summer fun as the Festival comes to The Playstead in Franklin Park on Wednesday, August 17, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Now in its fifth year, the festival offers city kids a full schedule of outdoor activities to celebrate the end of summer before school begins. Children ages 15 and under can enjoy a marionette musical performance by Rosalita’s Puppets and storytelling by Jef Czekaj, author of “Hip and Hop Don't Stop” and “Cat Secrets.”
Guests will enjoy prizes and giveaways from Disney’s “The Lion King” roaring into theatres and homes in breathtaking 3D this fall, as well as Anchor Bay Home Entertainment’s “Hoodwinked Too” available on Blu-ray™ and DVD August 16. In addition, the festival boasts face painting,
arts and crafts, Jungle Jim’s balloon animals, and a Boston fire engine.
Snacks and refreshments will be provided by sponsors HP Hood LLC, Nantucket Nectars, Snapple, Freihofer’s Bread Company, and media sponsor Mix 104.1 FM. The Children’s Festival, part of the annual ParkARTS series of programs, is made possible with the support from Bank of America.
As summer comes to a close, the Boston Children’s Festival offers young people another chance to meet new friends and experience fun and exciting activities while enjoying one of Boston’s finest jewels, Franklin Park.
