On Friday, July 20 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. the Charles River Creative Arts Program (CRCAP) will present its first Arts Festival of the summer.

Arts Festival is a day-long celebration of the arts. Over 85 working artists and 300 artist campers will perform music, dance, comedy, theater and display visual arts in gallery displays, demonstrations, fashion shows, and photography exhibits.

The day will also include the premiere of original short films. All the art presented at the Arts Festival has been created this summer through the collaboration of campers and counselors at the Charles River Creative Arts Program.

Families can choose from over 60 events throughout the day. In addition to watching and enjoying the art, families can also be a part of the experience through activities such as face-painting and t-shirt making. Families can also try their hand at creating a newspaper, or participate in an interactive improv show. Volleyball, swimming and a home-run derby round out the activities.

The day concludes with the final performance of the musical Final Vinyl at 8pm. Charles River is proud to be presenting the premiere of the show, written by Kevin Frei, directed by Ali Sherman and Music Directed by Ben Oehlkers and Faith Soloway. In addition to the Friday evening performance, the show will also be performed on Thursday, July 19th at 8pm.

All activities are free and open to the public. Tickets are not required in advance.
