There is fun and free entertainment all day at the first annual Newtonville Village Day & Jazz Festival. For kids: kiddie amusement rides in the Senior Center parking lot, climb-A-Truck in the Austin Street parking lot, face painting and free arts & crafts on Highland Ave.

For the family: free jazz performances, presented by New England Jazz Productions, four local dance studios and others on Highland Avenue; Bike Newton Walk/Bike Week's helmet & bike safety check; craft booths, informational booths; Sidewalk Sam makes another masterpiece with chalk; the first 'Great Newtonville Flea Market', and don't forget to check out the promotional deals available in many of the local stores.
