Hometown Comfort is a daylong event in response to the April 15th Marathon tragedy.

Its purpose is to bring the community together to honor victims and first responders and help our city heal with the embrace of a hometown.

All proceeds will benefit The One Fund-Boston.

The day kicks off with a Hometown Carnival, noon to 4 p.m., and concludes with a Comfort Food Tasting 6 to 9 p.m. All will take place Sunday, May 19, at the IBEW Local 103, 256 Freeport St., Dorchester.

The Hometown Carnival, generously sponsored by the Amos and Boris Fund, features amusements, games, a DJ, face painting, and a chance to create a one-of-kind piece of community art, and to record an original Boston Marathon song.

Sullivan's at Castle Island is providing hot dogs to go with our Hoodsies, fried dough and cake.

Explore a fire truck, enjoy a kid's comedy hour, a bagpipe performance, and take a chance on raffle items and bid on great silent auction items.

A donation of $25 per family is suggested for admission to the carnival tent.
