Join the Petersham community and the East Quabbin Land Trust for live music, potluck supper, live & silent auctions, and family activities including a climbing wall. Donations will benefit the reopening of our historic Country Store.

Auction items include week-long house retreats in the White Mountains and on the Maine coast; a motorized go-kart; a new bicycle from a Boston bicycle shop; a range of gift certificates from area restaurants, farms, and stores; guided hiking and fishing tours; a week-long retreat in the Bahamas; original art from area artists; hand-knit woolens from local artisans including fine cashmere and alpaca items; a sunset cruise on Queen Lake in Phillipston; two sets of book-matched 9-foot, 32-inch vintage hickory boards; and much more.

Radio and TV personalities David Boeri (WBUR) and Doug Goudie (Fox 25 Morning News) will serve as auctioneers.

Special guests will also include Massachusetts Senator Stephen Brewer and Representative Denise Andrews.

Musicians will include Barrett Anderson, a blues musician who has performed all over New England and the east coast.

The Petersham Country Store first opened in 1840 but was shuttered in 2012.

Funds have already been secured by Petersham community members and the East Quabbin Land Trust to purchase and re-open the store later this year with a focus on local products, including a cafe featuring local food.

Money raised at the 'Restore the Country Store' event will help fund renovations needed before the historic building can reopen later this year, including an accessible restroom, improved water filtration, and more efficient cooling.

The 'Restore the Country Store' event will be held rain or shine under tents on the Petersham town green and in Petersham Town Hall.

The event begins at 4:00 p.m with music, activities, and silent auction.

The potluck supper begins at 5:00 p.m. Visitors are encouraged to bring a dish to share with 4 or more people, plus dining utensils and lawn chairs or a blanket.

The live auction kicks off at 5:30 p.m. and music will go on into the evening.
