This year we’ve decided to capitalize on the enthusiasm for Wayside’s 5K4Kids (5-kilometer run/walk) with the addition of two new initiatives: a fun and free Family Festival and the drawing of the winner of the $5KGetaway, an “ultimate raffle” whose grand prize is a $5,000 vacation to the destination of your choice.
5-KILOMETER RUN/WALK
• Registration opens at 9am, race starts at 10am
• 5 Kilometers (3.1 miles)
• Participants can run or walk
• 2012 200 registered – 2013 goal is 350
• Separate kids race
• Awards ceremony immediately follows
• Runners timed professionally with chips
FAMILY FESTIVAL
• 9am-1pm
• Kids’ race and medals
• Kids’ activities
• Local vendors to provide food and drink
• Fun music provided by DJ
• Demonstrations by local police, fire department
$5KGETAWAY RAFFLE
• Grand prize is a $5,000 voucher with our travel agent, Travel Concepts
• Plus additional prizes
• $5 each, 5 for $20
• On sale beginning mid-June launch
• Available online, in-person and by mail
• Will be sold in person at events in summer and early fall
• Winner(s) will be drawn at the event
