WGBH, The Boston Globe and Citizens Bank are teaming up again to host the third annual Boston Summer Arts Weekend (BSAW), a free festival in Copley Square (Sat, 7/26-Sun, 7/27) showcasing Boston’s thriving arts community that will be complemented by special arts-related offers around the city and a series of ticketed performances.
This event will attract thousands of people and WGBH needs volunteers to help run a variety of activities to engage guests at the WGBH Booth.

Saturday, July 26th welcomes the musical talents of SteveSongs, The Gizmo Guys, and Debbie and Friends to entertain kids in a fun, interactive, and educational manner.
The day continues with the world’s top talents in Irish step-dancing, The StepCrew, the Nuevo flamenco musical style of Jesse Cook, the returning Soul Rebels, known for their eclectic live show, and Los Lobos, the award winning band based on a mix of rock ‘n’ roll and blues.
Sunday, July 27th sees passion and energy in students from The Boston Conservatory Dance Revue.
BSAW will showcase the classical music performances of the Handel & Haydn Society, the Boston Landmarks Orchestra, and Arturo Sandoval, known for his mastery of the jazz trumpet and flugel horn.
The weekend programming also includes a series of Boston Summer Arts Weekend Walks & Talks.
Beginning the week of July 23, the programming will feature a Newbury Street gallery tour at fourteen different locations, a Fine Arts Auction, and exclusive talks with artists and authors at venues across Boston.
Volunteer Needs
This is an ideal volunteer opportunity for those of you who are great with people, love being outdoors, want to support the station and appreciate the Arts!

Please make sure to include the following information in your email response:

· Preferred volunteer date and shift (if more than one is offered during the day)
· Top 3 volunteer positions (in order of preference)
Position Descriptions:
Raffle Rangers: Interact with guests near and around the WGBH Table, answer questions and encourage audiences to enter our WGBH raffle for the chance to win some great prizes.
Character Meet and Greet Photographer: Take pictures of guests (without cameras) at PBS Character Meet & Greet area.
**Please send samples of your work to be considered.
Photographer’s Assistant: Record names of people in PBS Character Meet & Greet pictures.
Costume Handler: Assist with character preparation backstage; escort costume character around the venue; and speak on behalf of the character.
Costume Characters: Clifford, Curious George, Arthur Wear a costume (see below) and interact with guests.
· Arthur (5’4”-5’9”, average build)
· Buddy the Dinosaur (no taller than 5’4”, petite build)
· Curious George (5’1”-5’3”, average build)
Curious George Temporary Tattoo Application: Apply Curious George temporary tattoos to children’s hands or arms at WGBH Table.
Baroque Breakfast Registration: Greet and welcome guests to Sunday’s Baroque Breakfast, answer questions, and check their names off RSVP list.

SHIFT 1: 10AM - 2PM
