Traditionally, this festival was an honoring of the end of the summer harvest.
It was a time for families to gather to recognize the year’s hard work and be with their community.
Through this event, VietAID will be celebrating 23 years of service with the Greater Boston area under the same Harvest Moon that has represented fullness and prosperity of life for centuries.
On this day, we hope to bring together more than 3,000 friends for an exciting afternoon of food, fun, and entertainment.
We will have local food vendors from the Fields Corner and greater Boston community to showcase the diversity of cuisines in the area.
Activities will include lantern making, outdoor games, a competition for best bánh trung thu, Vietnamese moon cakes as well as Pho, noodle eating contest and a VIP area.
We will end the festival at dusk with a lighting of lanterns and recognition of key community leaders.
VietAID sees this as an opportunity not only to commemorate the community here in Boston, but also to simultaneously pay tribute to our Vietnamese roots.
Join us to help continue our focus on both community education and cultural preservation.
