The Cambridge Carnival has been growing ever since 1992 and has the pleasure of bringing together Cambridge's diverse community in celebration of all free people of the world for a spectacular annual costume parade.
Free people could publicly celebrate their native culture, emancipation and freedom of expression through costumes, masks, music, drumming and dancing.
Aside from the parade, there are many vendors that participants can shop at and many foods that they can try.
The Cambridge Carnival site is located in Kendall Square on Main Street between Vassar Street and Ames Street.
This year, due to construction in Kendall Square near the MBTA, some of our craft vendors will be relocated to both sides of Ames Street.
Festivities in Kendall Square start at 12pm and end at 6pm.
The carnival includes live music stages, ethnic foods, exotic arts and crafts, steel drums, dancing, and free interactive activities for children.
