Events taking place on Friday evening and Saturday will focus on local authors and poets.
These events will be held live and in-person in various venues throughout beautiful downtown Newburyport.
Friday evening celebrates Festival honoree Peter Orner who will be in conversation with author Andre Dubus III.
They will discuss Peter’s latest work, “Still No Word From You: Notes in the Margin”, a book of essays on literature and reading.
6:00 p.m., Firehouse Center for the Arts, Newburyport.
Cocktail reception follows at The Grog Restaurant, Newburyport.
Saturday events will begin with Coffee with the Poets featuring award-winning poets Rhina P. Espaillat, Al Basile, Daniel Brown, Barbara Lydecker Crane, and Paulette Demers Turco.
During the day, a wide range of distinguished biographers, poets, novelists, and journalists will read from and discuss their work.
Participating authors and poets include Kamila Shamsie, William Landay, Alan Lightman, Midge Goldberg and Greg Melville.
Sunday’s events will celebrate authors and poets throughout the U.S. and abroad.
These events will be live-streamed and accessible via computer, tablet or mobile device beginning at 9:00 a.m.
Featured authors include award-winning authors Rebecca Makkai, Alena Dillon, Allegra Goodman and podcasters Dave Humphrey and Mel Joulwan of “Strong Sense of Place”.
No registration needed for Friday and Saturday events.
