Boston Premiere of WGBH's 'Freedom Riders'
From noon-6pm, WGBH holds an open house at its Studios, featuring the exhibition and a book signing with Ray Arsenault, author of Freedom Riders: 1961 and the Struggle for Racial Justice. The open house, which is free and open to the general public, also includes a Q&A with original Rider Bernard Lafayette Jr. and Arsenault.
That evening, the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum hosts the Boston premiere of Freedom Riders, the film from WGBH’s history series American Experience. Following the screening, 89.7 WGBH Radio’s Callie Crossley moderates discussion with the panel of original Riders Genevieve Hughes Houghton and Lafayette Jr.
