Mayor Thomas M. Menino and the Skating Club of Boston invite residents and visitors of all ages to enjoy two free Friday movie nights at the Boston Common Frog Pond in September. The featured films are “The Lorax” on September 13 and the perennial family classic “E.T.” on September 27.
Both shows begin at dusk but please arrive early for children’s entertainment beginning at 6 p.m. including a magician, activities, and a performance by Rosalita’s Puppets.
Bring your blankets and chairs and make yourself comfortable as you enjoy these family favorites in the outdoors. In addition, the Frog Pond
Carousel will remain open until start of the films.
The Carousel features a variety of Bradley and Kaye horses, wildlife figures, and a chariot. It was named one of “America’s Best Carousels” by Travel and Leisure in May of 2012.
Carousel Admission is $3. Individuals of all ages are encouraged to take advantage of this handicapped-accessible attraction. Anyone under 42 inches must be accompanied by an adult.
The Boston Common Frog Pond is managed through a public-private partnership between The Skating Club of Boston and the Boston Parks and Recreation Department.
