In the Emperor Penguin colony, each penguin sings a unique song to attract a soul mate. Mumble the Penquin is a terrible singer, but he discovers a talent for tap dancing!

The other penguins do not approve of Mumble's dancing and he is exiled from the community. He wanders through Antarctica and eventually finds friendship and acceptance among the Adelie penguins.

Happy Feet follows the natural course of a penguin's life with many scenes and plot devices that are similar to the very popular 'March of the Penguins.'
