The Tremont School will host a screening and lively discussion of the ground-breaking film “Race to Nowhere” on Thursday, January 30th, 2014 at 7:00 pm.

As part of the Tremont School’s free Forum series, the film challenges viewers to question traditional education methods and discuss how we, as a community, can best prepare young generations for a lifetime of success and happiness.

As one of the “10 Education Documentaries You Don’t Want to Miss,” the film captures the raw and moving stories of students who struggle with over-programming, stress-related illnesses, depression, burn-out, and an overwhelming pressure to conform to traditional testing metrics.

With an innovative, individualized and project-based learning environment, the Tremont School is pleased to host the film screening and facilitate a viewer discussion around the film’s key questions of how to keep students healthy, engaged, inspired, and prepared for a career in a diverse economy.
The “Race to Nowhere” documentary features compelling testimony from clinical psychologists, university deans, adolescent specialists, parents, and students.

It has been shown in over 6,000 schools, universities, community centers and other venues.

The screening on January 30th will be held at the Tremont School, 57 Brown Street, Weston, MA from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm and is free and open to the public.
