The Davis ReDiscovered Summer Movie: Night at the Museum
This summer, the Davis Museum at Wellesley College will host its first-ever outdoor film series, The Davis ReDiscovered: Summer Film Series 2016.
The series includes four family-friendly movies that feature a museum in the story:
Night at the Museum (6/30),
Ferris Bueller’s Day Off (7/14),
Raiders of the Lost Ark (7/28), and
Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief (8/4).
From teenagers enjoying an action-packed day off from school in Chicago, to a security guard managing exhibits as they come to life and wreak havoc in a natural history museum, the storylines will engage visitors of all ages.
The film series is part of a campus-wide celebration leading up to the unveiling of the Davis Museum’s reinstallation of its permanent collections galleries.
The films will be projected on the outside of the Davis Museum building.
Visitors are welcome to arrive as early as 7 p.m. to enjoy art-making activities for all ages, and to get settled into their viewing spot.
Admission to each film is open and free to the public.
The Davis will provide free popcorn.
Ice cream and beer will be available from a cash-only host bar.
Visitors are encouraged to bring folding chairs and blankets for their comfort.
