'Museum Hours' Film Screening
Dir. Jem Cohen, 2014
Johann, a museum guard, spends his days silently observing both the art and the visitors.
Anne, suddenly called to Vienna from overseas, has been wandering the city in a state of limbo.
A chance meeting sparks a deepening connection between these two adrift strangers who find refuge in Vienna's grand Kunsthistorisches Museum.
'Museum Hours' is an ode to the bonds of friendship, an exploration of an unseen Vienna, and the power of art to both mirror and alter our lives.
This film screening is a part of the Film Series: Museums in Motion hosted by the Davis Museum.
All films take place in Collins Cinema beginning at 6:30pm.
In honor of the Davis’s newly installed permanent collections galleries, uncover the secret life of museums through this selection of recent cinematic masterpieces.
These contemporary films pull back the curtain on unique, behind-the-scenes views of museum activities and characters, both real and imagined.
