On November 3, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston (MFA), hosts a screening of the iconic film The Best Man, followed by a conversation with the film's director Malcolm D. Lee.In the 1999 film, eight college friends reunite over the holidays for the first time in nearly 15 years.
Although much has changed in their lives during their time apart, the friends discover just how easily long-forgotten rivalries and passionate romances can reignite. Tickets are available online: $20 for members and $25 for non members. The film will begin at 7 pm.
Malcolm D. Lee is an award winning writer, director and producer of film and television. Lee has directed 11 feature films including his critically acclaimed feature film and directorial debut The Best Man, as well as other cultural and box office hits including Undercover Brother; Barbershop: The Next Cut; The Best Man Holiday; Night School; Girls Trip and Space Jam: A New Legacy.
In 2022, Lee co-wrote and directed Peacock’s The Best Man: Final Chapters, an eight-part series finale to Lee’s iconic The Best Man franchise.
