BCM is joined by Boston Children's Hospital, MGH, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Shriners Hospital, BU and Harvard Dental schools to bring art activities, a teddy bear clinic, hospital bingo, a dental clinic and more!
In 1979, when Boston Children’s Museum moved to Fort Point Channel, 'Children & Hospitals Day' (later renamed “Healthy Kids Festival”) was launched.
This is a full-day event in which various community health partners (Boston Children's Hospital has participated since the beginning) demonstrate their commitment to quality healthcare by sponsoring educational, informational, and fun activities that help increase public and professional awareness of the special needs of children and their families in hospitals.
This is the 33rd year Boston Children’s Museum has celebrated healthy kids and families in order to help parents and their children engage in activities and conversations about health care. The expanded activities include healthy pediatric doctor visits and dental care.
All families attending will benefit from talking with health practitioners, hearing from experts, and having fun playing dentist, learning about nutrition and exercise, meeting a therapy dog and being creative in the Art Studio with medical supplies! The goal is to have fun and open up a family conversation about being healthy!
