Toll House Cookie Day at the Whitman Public Library, 100 Webster St., Whitman, Mass., celebrates the 75th anniversary of the locally born treat with a 2 p.m. panel discussion featuring former Toll House employees, a chocolate chip cookie contest and signing of the new Great American Chocolate Chip Cookie Book.

Entries of no fewer than 8 chocolate chip cookies should be delivered to the library between 10 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. that day.

Panel discussion will be led by author Carolyn Wyman at 2 p.m. Cookie contest awards ceremony at 3 p.m. Book signing at 3:15 p.m. Call the library at at 781-447-7613 or visit www.whitmanpubliclibrary.org for more information.
