Toll House Cookie Day at the Whitman Public Library, 100 Webster St., Whitman, Mass., celebrates the 75th anniversary of the locally born treat with a 2 p.m. panel discussion featuring former Toll House employees, a chocolate chip cookie contest and signing of the new Great American Chocolate Chip Cookie Book.

Entries of no fewer than 8 chocolate chip cookies should be delivered to the library between 10 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. that day.
