Time to Make the Donuts for Kids
Jeremy Werther, chef at Centre Street in Jamaica Plain, will be joining us to show us how to make 2 versions - a classic chocolate glazed cake donut and a “sweet potato casserole” donut (a brioche donut with whipped sweet potato and toasted marshmallow).
Jeremy has been working in kitchens since an early age and graduated from the Hospitality Management program at the Isenberg School of Management at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.
He spent his summers working at notable Boston establishments such as Sel de la Terre and Prezza.
At the end of 2013, Jeremy joined Chef Todd Winer as Executive Sous Chef as part of the opening team at Pastoral in Fort Point which Jeremy credits as a major turning point in his drive towards his ultimate goal.
Jeremy's passion for restaurants has always been about more than just creating unique dishes.
His love for restaurants comes from a strong desire to bring together the community, sharing a meal and an experience.
He hopes to connect diners with local farms and suppliers, demonstrating the role these farms play in providing the sustainability of fresh, local, and real ingredients.
It is with these core values in mind that Jeremy is planning to open his first restaurant, Homestead.
