Meat 101: Demo & Tasting with Chestnut Farms

On Saturday, May 20th, learn the proper techniques for cooking grass-fed local meat from our meat experts at Chestnut Farms.

The KITCHEN at The Boston Public Market will be hosting Chestnut Farms for a series of cooking classes that teach attendees how to cook beef, chicken, pork, and more.
The May 20th class will focus on steak.
We will test and sample different cuts, learn the proper way to use a meat thermometer, and explain the difference between grass-fed and corn fed beef.
Attendees can assist the chef, ask questions about cooking techniques, and will get to taste several recipes.

About Chestnut Farms:
Chestnut Farms is a family owned livestock farm in Central MA with a focus on animal welfare and land stewardship.
Our meat experts, Theresa and Rebecca have been with Chestnut Farms for a combined 18 years.
Theresa currently works as the Chestnut Farms BPM manager and has worked as a farm-hand, pounding fence posts and washing eggs.
Rebecca is long-time CSA member and experienced home cook.
Together they will bring back the basics of cooking and remind everyone that a fantastic home cooked meal doesn’t have to be complicated.
