Demo Day in The KITCHEN: Nella Pasta & Red Apple Farm
During The KITCHEN’s weekend Demo Days, we invite local chefs and Boston Public Market vendors to cook and provide samples of recipes they love using ingredients from the Market.
Sit for a while and watch these experts create delicious recipes using local, seasonal ingredients from our BPM farmers and artisans.
Then taste samples of their creations and pick up the ingredients right in the Market to make the recipes at home.
Demonstrations:
11:00am-11:45 am | Chef Avery of Nella Pasta will demo a seasonal pasta dish using his hand-made pasta.
Watch as he creates a whole new type of pasta - 'marblized' beet pasta - from scratch!
Sample his creations paired with seasonal ingredients from the market.
12:15-1:00 pm | Emily from Red Apple Farm will lead an apple pairing demo and offer a tasting of different apple varieties.
She'll explain what makes each apple unique, highlighting the nutritional qualities, flavor notes, and other distinctions between several classic New England apples.
Then, she will suggest food pairings to go along with each apple, featuring local cheeses, vegetables, nut butters, and even chocolate from the Boston Public Market.
You'll walk away with a few samples and a few recipes to try out using all local ingredients!
