Franklin Park Fall Forest Festival – Saturday, October 2, 2010 from 10:00am – 4:00pm. FREE outdoor activities for all ages. You can climb a tree, do landscape watercolor painting, participate in family nature hikes, and forage for edible plants.

Festival registration and all activities start at Valley Gates Parking Lot midway along the main park road – look for signs directing you. Organized by the Franklin Park Coalition in partnership with the Boston Nature Center, ParkARTS, Boston Area Recreational Climbers, REI Wilderness Outdoor Store, and local naturalists.

• 10:00am-Noon: Volunteer doing woodlands restoration
• 12:00-2:00pm: Landscape watercolor painting – all materials provided by ParkARTS.
• 1:00-3:00pm: Family nature hikes & activities with Boston Nature Center teachers.
• 2:00-4:00pm: Fall foraging edible plant walk with local naturalist, Pam Kristan
• 12:00-4:00pm: Tree Climbing with Boston Area Recreational Climbers
