Celebrate the kick-off of the Boston Harbor Islands National and State Park public ferry season on May 18-19 with a FREE trip to Georges Island, and explore historic Fort Warren. Tickets are first come, first served, so arrive early! Pick up tickets at the City Cruises Harbor Islands Ferry Center at Long Wharf North beginning at 8:00am.

NOTE:Ticket windows open on both days at 8am, and free tickets sell out fast – so be sure to get there early to claim your seat. Ferries run rain or shine, so come ready for the weather to ensure an enjoyable day in the park.

Escape the city for a fun outdoor excursion, and simply enjoy a refreshing ferry ride through scenic Boston Harbor. Explore historic Fort Warren on Georges Island or walk Spectacle Island’s beaches and winding trails.
Catch the ferry to either island right from downtown Boston’s Long Wharf North… for free!
Tickets are first come, first served, and can be picked up at the Boston Harbor City Cruises Ferry Center at Long Wharf North beginning at 8:00am. No advance reservations. Arrive early, as this event will sell out fast!
This event cannot accommodate groups – 5 tickets allowed per adult
Start your day with free family fun including arts, music, children’s activities, and learning about Boston Harbor near the Ferry Center at Long Wharf North from 8:00 am – 2:30 pm.
Ferry Schedule: Ferries will depart promptly at their scheduled times from Gate A2 at Long Wharf North.
We recommend arriving at least 15 minutes prior to departure.
Boston to Georges Island: 10:00AM – 12:00PM – 2:00PM (Return ferries to Boston depart Georges at 1:00PM, 3:00PM, & 5:00PM)
Boston to Spectacle Island: 10:30AM – 12:30PM – 2:30PM (Return ferries to Boston depart Spectacle at 1:30PM, 3:30PM, & 5:30PM)

No tickets will be given out at the Boston Harbor Islands Welcome Center on the Greenway or Long Wharf South ticket booth.
Free tickets are from Boston only. Hingham and Hull ferries will resume later this season.
The ticket window opens at 8:30 am. On nice weather days, all free ferry tickets are
distributed before 11 am, with all of the departures listed below completely booked at that point.
The interisland service in/out of Boston is not available on Free Ferry Day.
