Better World Books, Boston’s Prison Book Program and the City Mission Society are calling all Bostonians to clear off their cluttered shelves for a good cause. In what’s become an annual tradition, area residents and community members of all ages are invited to stop by the Great American Book Drive to donate new and used books to help raise money for the Prison Book Program.

Previous drives have collected tens of thousands of books – quite a sight! – and this year’s organizers are looking to break some records.

Donors are encouraged to get in gear before the big day by holding book drives at their schools, offices, churches, and more, and then bring books to the drive on the big day. Tools for hosting your own book drive can be found here:
