Wakefield Cares, a registered 501(c)3, is hosting an event to raise funds to provide housing for homeless veterans in Wakefield. Organizers Jim and Suzanne Cotter have been active in local fundraising, having raised over $5,000 in the past four years. A Vietnam Airforce veteran, Jim saw a need to provide for those who fought four our freedom.

At the event, there will be a table of remembrance; guests are invited to bring a photo of
a fallen soldier who was a family member or friend. Darnell “Shifty” Powers, of the 101st
Screaming Eagles memorialized in the HBO miniseries “Band of Brothers,” will be honored
as well. Active and retired service members are encouraged to wear their dress uniform.

Guests will enjoy a delicious meal from a variety of area restaurants serving their signature
dishes and local favorites! There will be something for everyone at these delectable food
stations. Your entertainment for the evening will be a truly unique talent that has thrilled
many audiences across America. Joey Voices will awe you with his clean dose of humor and
multitude of celebrity singing impressions. Susanne Cotter will open the show for Joey.
