RFK Children’s Action Corps' Embracing the Legacy

Advocates for disadvantaged youth will be honored at Embracing the Legacy, the premier annual gala of the Robert F.

Kennedy Children’s Action Corps that raises funds to support its child welfare, juvenile justice programs, education and services.

The event is set for Wednesday, June 12 at Boston’s John F.

Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum.

In the spirit of the late Senator’s belief that individuals can make a difference in the world, the agency will present the Embracing the Legacy Awards to advocates who have worked to eliminate injustice affecting children.

The event will include a cocktail reception, seated dinner and program, including the presentation of the Embracing the Legacy Awards to the following honorees:

Thomas Coury, executive director of the Gardiner Howland Shaw Foundation; Judge Leslie Harris, associate justice of The Suffolk Juvenile Court; Jeannette Pai-Espinosa, president of The National Crittenton Foundation; and Darrin Smith, former National Football League player and two-time Super Bowl champion.

Kennedy Children’s Action Corps’ Annual Embracing the Legacy Award celebrates the legacy of Robert F.

Kennedy and the work of the organization founded to carry out his principles of social justice for the poor and disadvantaged.

Through the event, the Robert F.

Kennedy Children’s Action Corps raises money to support some of Massachusetts’ most vulnerable youth and families, giving them a second chance for a better life.

The agency, which is celebrating 44 years of service, is a national leader in developing and implementing model, successful child welfare and juvenile justice programs.

The event will be held at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 12 at the JFK Presidential Library and Museum, Columbia Point, Boston.

Individual tickets are $300 and corporate sponsorship opportunities are available.
