100 % of the profits received during this time will go directly to the Colleen Ritzer Memorial Scholarship Fund.
According to the scholarship fund, in honor of Ritzer’s passion to create a lasting legacy, the Colleen E.
Ritzer Memorial Scholarship was established to benefit Andover and Danvers High School seniors who demonstrate a passion for teaching, academic excellence and love of family.
Applicants must also plan to pursue a degree in the field of education at an accredited 4-year college or university in the fall of 2014.
“Of the 32 employees currently working at Putnam Pantry, 25 have attended Danvers High School, and many were impacted daily by Miss Ritzer’s kindness and care,” said Cathie Emerson, co-owner of Putnam Pantry.
“We think it means a lot to the kids here, and to the community, to give back to her memorial scholarship fund in the same way she gave every day to those students.”
In addition to the ice cream social, proceeds from the Putnam Pantry “Danvers Strong” chocolate coins will also be donated to the scholarship fund.
