The 80s-themed event, Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now, will raise critical funds needed to unlock the potential of more babies in Boston who are being raised in poverty.
The festive party will feature dancing to 80s classics, retro gaming, abundant food stations, and a brief presentation that will honor Tiara Murphy, a mother in Room to Grow’s three year, comprehensive program.
Tiara will share her experience in the program, the ways it has helped her family, and her hopes and dreams for her son, Alijah.
Leaders of the event are committed to Room to Grow’s mission and encourage the community to get involved to help ensure the most vulnerable children in Boston have the opportunity for a bright future.
Honorary Chairs include Robyn and Charles Carter of Ashland, Darren Donovan, Managing Principal, KPMG, and Michelle Wu, Boston City Council President.
Event Chairs are Velia and Rob Baldassare of Lexington, Sarah and Josh Greenhill of Brookline, and Giselle and Casey Nelson of Wellesley.
This year, Room to Grow has increased its capacity to serve low-income families in Boston by 30%.
“9 out 10 children graduating from Room to Grow’s program are meeting their developmental milestones on track, effectively closing the 20% achievement gap for babies born into poverty,” explains Allyson Crawford, a native of Boston, Executive Director of Room to Grow New York, and Acting ED of Room to Grow Boston.
Funds raised during the upcoming benefit will position the organization to continue to increase its impact in Boston.
Fall Benefit tickets are $300 per person and must be purchased in advance.
Room to Grow appreciates the support of many individual and corporate sponsors including Dream Builder Sponsor MFS Investment Management, and Life Enrichment Sponsors KPMG, Liberty Mutual Insurance, STAG Industrial, Tamar and Ken Frieze of Boston, Sarah and Josh Greenhill of Brookline, and Giselle and Casey Nelson of Wellesley, as well as the event’s media sponsor, Boston magazine.
