We are thrilled to honor Catalyst Awards recipients Kaelyn Brown and Ashley Cooper—both Harvard College Neuroscience students—and Silver Anniversary Awards recipients, Cambridge STEAM Initiative, Geeta Pradhan of the Cambridge Community Foundation, and the Women’s Foundation of Boston, for their leadership in advancing opportunities for women and girls.
Kaelyn shares, “[Science Club] gave me the opportunity to see that anything is possible, and as a Black woman, and a Black woman in STEM more specifically, that’s really important.” Ashley, who got involved her freshman year, now mentors second graders, many of whom began in Kindergarten.
“I was really able to see that it shaped the formative ideas they had—that they do deserve to be in science and can understand the ideas being taught.”
