The Melrose-based Follow Your Art Community Studios (FYA) announced today that its second annual public art fundraiser, 'Chalk Walk 2022,' will take place Sat., Oct. 1 and expand to include community- and artist-made works near Ell Pond, and along the city's Main Street corridor.Rain date will be Sun., Oct. 2.
Last year's inaugural 'Chalk Walk' event drew more than 200 artists, community groups and families to make or sponsor colorful chalk paintings on the 700 Main Street pathway near Ell Pond and the walkway in front of Melrose City Hall.
This year, Melrose businesses have the opportunity to become Premium Business Sponsors and work with artists to create original art on the sidewalk outside their storefronts.
Chalk drawings will be created from 10am-1pm along Main Street; the final pieces can be enjoyed all day and throughout the weekend, weather permitting.
