Please join the Friends of the Sharon Public Library for a special guided tour of the Gropius House in Lincoln, MA on Saturday, July 14. A National Historic Landmark, Gropius House was designed and built in 1938 by Walter Gropius as his family home when he brought his family here from Germany to teach at Harvard's Graduate School of Design.
Founder of the German design school known as the Bauhaus, Walter Gropius (1883-1969) was a celebrated German architect and a leading proponent of modern architecture. Extensive restoration of the property has been under way for the past 15 years.
Fees are $13/person for members and $15/person for non-members and include the tour and transportation. The trip will depart from the Sharon Public Library (High Street side) at 10:30 am and travel to Lincoln. Approximate arrival back in Sharon is expected to be 1:30 pm. Children ages 12 and over are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.
Event registration is required and deadline is Monday, July 9. Sorry - no refund requests after this date.
